Dr. Amanda Schnitker graduated with honors from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.
After graduation, she completed a rotating small animal internship at University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. She then went on to complete a surgical internship at Veterinary Surgical Associates in San Francisco, California (now known as Sage Centers). She returned to the Midwest and settled in Chicago in 2006. She has worked in a variety of small animal practices in Chicago, deepening her knowledge of small animal veterinary medicine.
Dr. Schnitker founded Companion Animal Hospital River North in 2018 and remains their medical director. In 2022, Dr. Schnitker also started as the medical director at Uptown Animal Hospital communication.
In her free time, Dr. Schnitker can be found reading or gardening with her pets by her side. She has a cat named Lily and a dog named Bungee.
